Molbio Diagnostics is set to make its debut on the BSE and NSE today following an overwhelmingly successful IPO that was subscribed 70.26 times. The Rs 939.70 crore IPO, priced at Rs 807 per share, included a fresh issue of 25 lakh shares worth Rs 200 crore and an offer for sale of 92 lakh shares valued at Rs 739.70 crore.
The IPO, which opened on August 10 and closed on August 12, saw significant interest from qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) with a subscription rate of 186.39 times. Non-institutional investors (NIIs) and retail investors also showed strong interest, subscribing 49.80 times and 12.96 times, respectively. Ahead of the IPO, Molbio Diagnostics raised Rs 281.5 crore from anchor investors by allotting 34.87 lakh equity shares at the upper end of the price band.
Kotak Mahindra Capital Company acted as the book-running lead manager for the issue, while KFin Technologies Ltd. served as the registrar. The proceeds from the IPO will be used to expand Molbio's infrastructure and enhance its research and manufacturing capabilities. Specifically, Rs 125.12 crore is earmarked for capital expenditure, including the development of a research and development facility and related infrastructure.
Molbio Diagnostics, established in October 2000, is renowned for its Truenat platform, a portable PCR-based molecular diagnostic system. The company provides testing solutions for over 30 diseases and has expanded into radiology and digital pathology through strategic partnerships.
The company has reported strong financial growth, with total income rising 42% year-on-year to Rs 1,455 crore in FY26. Profit after tax also increased by 18% to Rs 164 crore, reflecting its robust business model and market demand.
