Augmont Enterprises witnessed a 2% drop in its share price after an initial listing at a 22% premium, following its Rs 825 crore IPO. The IPO, priced at Rs 788 per share, included a fresh issue of 79 lakh shares worth Rs 620 crore and an offer for sale of 26 lakh shares aggregating Rs 205 crore.
Despite the strong listing, analysts have mixed recommendations on the stock. Swastika Investmart maintains a Neutral stance, citing the company's high revenue driven by bullion trading volumes and a PAT margin below 0.4%, which limits margin expansion. The IPO's valuation was considered rich at 18.5–19.5x FY26 P/E and 6.8–7.1x P/B, making the post-listing premium less attractive for new investors.
Anand Rathi Research has assigned a 'Subscribe for Long Term' rating, noting that at the upper price band, the issue is valued at around 20.6x annualised FY26 P/E and 18.3x FY26 EV/EBITDA. The brokerage highlights Augmont's strong brand, distribution network, and digital ecosystem as key strengths.
“Despite the strong listing, our view remains Neutral. The company’s high revenue is largely driven by bullion trading volumes, while its PAT margin remains below 0.4%, leaving limited room for margin expansion.”
Shivani Nyati, Head of Wealth at Swastika Investmart
Ventura Securities also recommended a 'Subscribe' rating, emphasizing Augmont's integrated precious-metals ecosystem and technology-led platform. However, it cautioned investors about risks such as gold-price volatility and high working-capital requirements.
Augmont Enterprises reported a 42% increase in total income to Rs 94,282.47 lakh in FY26, with PAT surging 53% to Rs 348.30 lakh. The company operates across the gold and silver value chain, including procurement, refining, and digital gold services.
Background
Augmont Enterprises' IPO comes amid a growing interest in the formalisation and digitalisation of India's gold and silver market. The company's integrated platform positions it well to capitalize on these trends, but it faces challenges from market volatility and competition.
As the company navigates the post-IPO phase, investors should monitor market conditions closely. The stock's performance will depend on its ability to leverage its strengths in a competitive market and manage potential risks effectively.
