About
Son of former South African cricketer Tertius Bosch, Corbin Bosch has carved his own path as a seam-bowling all-rounder with grit and resilience. A key member of South Africa’s victorious U-19 World Cup side in 2014, he delivered a match-winning spell of 4/15 in the final, announcing himself as a big-match player early in his career. Over the years, Bosch has steadily worked through domestic cricket and franchise leagues, earning opportunities across formats, including a memorable Test debut where he scored a fighting 81 under pressure.
Bosch’s IPL journey began when he was signed by Mumbai Indians as an injury replacement for Lizaad Williams during the 2025 season. While he did not feature extensively in the playing XI, he was part of the squad setup and gained valuable exposure to the high-intensity IPL environment. He played 3 matches in IPL 2025, primarily used as a bowling all-rounder, but had limited opportunities to make a significant impact with either bat or ball. Despite modest returns on paper, his ability to hit the deck hard and contribute lower-order runs made him a useful backup option within the squad.
Going forward, expectations from Mumbai Indians for him will be more role-specific rather than volume-based. Bosch is likely to be seen as a squad all-rounder who can step in when conditions demand seam-bowling depth or when rotation becomes necessary during a long tournament. If given opportunities, he will be expected to provide control with the ball in middle and death overs, using his natural seam movement and discipline, while also contributing handy runs down the order.
