Mayank Yadav
About
The Delhi pacer, who made his domestic debut for his state in 2021 Vijay Hazare Trophy, was spotted by former India player Vijay Dahiya. And, immediately he was snapped up in the 2022 IPL auctions by Lucknow Super Giants with Dahiya being their assistant coach back then. However, he couldn’t make it to the XI in his first two seasons. He grabbed a lot of eyeballs during the 2023 Deodhar Trophy where he was the joint second highest wicket-taker with 12 wickets in 5 matches at an average of 17.58.
Mayank was unleashed by LSG in IPL 2024, he impressed straightaway and soon became the talk of the town. 3 for 27 on debut against Punjab Kings (wickets of Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma) and he followed it with an even better performance in the following game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru where he picked 3 for 17 (wickets of Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green). He consistently bowled in excess of 150kph and clocked 156.7kph against RCB which turned out to be the fastest delivery of the season. He was able to play just four matches due to an injury.
