About
He never buckled though, put in the hard yards and grabbed the attention of the selectors by carting a magnificent 298 in the Punjab U-23 district tournament for Patiala and his wait for the national call-up finally ended when was roped into the team for the ACC U-19 Asia Cup. Prabhsimran was also picked for a whopping 4.8 crore by Punjab Kings at the 2019 auction. However, he struggled to get game time. Prabhsimran was Punjab’s leading run-getter in the 2020-21 edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy. He had another strong season the following year as well and that kept him in the fold. The Punjab Kings kept him around during this time and it wasn't until 2023 that he got a fair opportunity to showcase his talent at the IPL. That season was a breakout year of sorts as he played all 14 games and scored 358 runs, including a sublime 103 against the Delhi Capitals on a turning track.
The 2023 season of the IPL was where Prabhsimran established himself as a top-order dasher. He reprised his role in 2024 but didn’t fare better as he ended up with 334 runs from 14 games. He was retained by the Punjab Kings ahead of the 2025 mega auction.
