Foulkes gets maiden Test call-up after Smith injury

Allrounder Nathan Smith picked up the injury while batting on Day 2 of the first Test against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo
Nathan Smith, the New Zealand all-rounder, has been ruled out of the second and final Test against Zimbabwe due to an abdominal strain.
Smith picked up the injury while batting on Day 2 of the first Test in Bulawayo. He was batting on 22 in the first innings when he experienced pain in the stomach region and then retired hurt. An MRI scan later confirmed the strain, which is expected to sideline him for two to four weeks.
In his absence, Zak Foulkes - who recently featured in the T20I tri-series against Zimbabwe and South Africa - has earned his maiden call-up to the Test squad.
Additionally, left-arm pacer Ben Lister has been added as cover for Will O'Rourke, who reported back stiffness on day three of the first Test and is currently under observation.
New Zealand won the first Test by nine wickets. The second Test will be played from August 7 in Bulawayo.
